Calling all musicians!
The Space for Words has grown into an amazing community of writers supporting one another. Musicians have been asking us for their chance to shine, so we’re dedicating the January edition to them. Come share your original music with our supportive community. We will provide a keyboard and acoustic guitar, but you can bring your own that would require minimal or no setup. Everyone who puts their name in the bucket upon entry gets a shot at the mic. Audience members are, as always, a welcome and vital part of the performances.
To honor the writing community, if someone really wants to get up a share a piece of writing that is not musical we would still welcome that.
The Space gallery offers a welcoming and supportive environment for you to share your writing. Bring your spoken word, poetry, comedy routines, acts from plays, chapters from novels, monologues, real life stories, song lyrics and any other kind of writing that you want to share. Audience members are also welcome if you don’t want to perform. Its an informal performance-meets-workshop experience where you can hone your writing and performance skills. Together as a creative group we can enhance our artistic expression in this world.
If you are a published author or poet and would like to sell copies of your books on the night of the event, you are welcome to do so. Come prepared with a few copies and your own form of payment acceptance.
Hosted by Clement Lee and Sovrin Gipsy.
BYOB is welcome, and some light snacks and drinks are served.
