Calling all musicians!
This will be a very special edition of the Space for Words dedicated to musicians.
Hosted by Clement Lee and Lucas Milan.
We will have a very special guest this evening! We love to keep things in the family, and Clement Lee happens to be the nephew of Steve Kelly. Mr. Kelly is a seasoned musician with decades of experience in the recording industry, most notably as the guitarist for Whitney Houston. He has toured the world with many acts, produced for major artists, and is a master guitarist. He will share his stories and life experiences, and we cannot wait to hear them!
Additionally, Lucas Milan is my very talented stepson! He is a prolific songwriter and performer, and he and a few fellow Montclair high schoolers will share their talents with us. This will be an evening where the young generation of musicians and our seasoned elders will connect and learn from one another. Creative connection and community is what the Space is about!
The Space for Words has grown into an amazing community of writers supporting one another. Musicians have been asking us for their chance to shine, so we’re dedicating the January edition to them. Come share your original music with our supportive community! We will provide a keyboard and acoustic guitar, but you can bring your own that would require minimal or no setup.
Anyone who puts their name in the bucket upon entry gets a shot at the mic. You may be limited to 1 or 2 songs depending on how many people sign up. Audience members are, as always, a welcome and vital part of the performances.
If you are a spoken word artist you are still welcome to the mic. We try to be supportive and inclusive of all artists.
If you have albums or merch that has been published and you would like to sell here, you are welcome to do so. Come prepared with your own payment processing method.
BYOB is welcome, and some light snacks and drinks are served.
