NEESAN – The Levant Noir Soundscape of April Centrone
Date: Saturday, April 19th
Time: Doors at 7:30 PM
Location: The Space Montclair
Step into a world where the past and future of Arabic psych rock collide. NEESAN, the brainchild of April Centrone, is a deep, cinematic journey through the streets of 1970s Lebanon, a place where Fairouz’s voice drifts through jasmine-scented air and the echoes of buzuq and oud tell stories of resilience and longing.
Dubbed the new “Arabic Khruangbin,” NEESAN crafts a raw, evocative sound that Centrone calls Levant Noir, a genre blending hypnotic rhythms, deep nostalgia, and lush sonic textures. At its heart, this project is a love letter to Beirut, capturing its spirit through winding modal melodies, psych-infused grooves, and immersive atmospheres that transport listeners to a time and place both distant and deeply familiar.
Join us for an intimate night of music at The Space Montclair, where NEESAN’s spellbinding sound will unfold in a listening room setting, a rare chance to experience the music in its purest, most immersive form.
