Roots of Radiance:  A celebration of Arab and Arab-American art – Artists Talk

Sunday, April 27 from 2 – 4 pm | free and open to all

Come hear what the artists have to say about their work.  This group show of 14 incredible artists, hosted in collaboration with FARAH, the Foundation for Arab American Heritage, has been a much talked about exhibit celebrating the richness of Arab culture and creativity during Arab-American Heritage Month.

Each of the works selected for this group exhibit reflect the joy, resilience, and beauty of Arab and Arab-American artistic expression.  The artists represent a diversity of heritage and a broad range of styles and materials in their work.  They inspire, uplift and honor the strength of cultural identity and heritage.

The Artist Talk is a unique opportunity to meet the artists and hear about their process, inspiration and techniques they use in their work.  These are very enriching conversations about art, life and what makes the creative spirit tick.  Its a beautiful way to share ideas and build community.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

The following events will coincide with the exhibit:

FARAH Festival will be held at the Montclair Art Museum on Saturday April 26.  Tickets are coming soon, but you can find their Instagram here.

DJ Omar Aena will host an Ecstatic Dance at the Space on Sunday April 6 from 4 – 7 pm.  Tickets are available here.

Sultana Taj will host a bellydance workshop called Empowered Goddess on Wednesday April 16 at 7 pm.  Sign up here. 

The Space for Words: Open Mic Night for Writers will be dedicated to Arab voices with special host Hind Shoufani on Friday April 25 at 7 pm. Tickets are available here.

The Space for Music will host a live show by April Centrone and Neesan, on Saturday April 19 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available here.
