Pastoralist Child Foundation (PCF) was founded in 2012 by Sayydah Garrett, a teacher in New Jersey and Samuel Siriria Leadismo, a human rights activist in Samburu, Kenya. The organization is a registered 501C3 tax-exempt public charity based in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. PCF works at the grassroots level in pastoralist (semi-nomadic) communities in Samburu and Maasai Mara, Kenya to prevent child marriage, FGM, and gender-based violence. We teach sexual & reproductive health and rights education and women’s economic empowerment. PCF also focuses on the importance of formal education and has a scholarship program for girls to attend secondary boarding schools and universities.
