Join us on Sunday, April 13 (new date) at 4pm for a deeply transformative evening of ecstatic dance, where movement becomes a form of pure expression!
What is Ecstatic Dance?
Ecstatic dance has deep roots in ancient and indigenous traditions, where dance was used as a form of spiritual practice, healing, and communal connection.
This is a substance-free, judgement-free, intuitive dance environment for people to move freely, express themselves, and experience dance as a form of meditation, connection, and celebration. DJ Omar Aena will take us on an immersive journey with his soulful beats from mystical music traditions from across the globe. You’ll have the chance to connect deeply into your body, explore the boundaries of your movement, and connect into your creative spirit. There will be space to connect with community, enjoy cacao, get an oracle card reading, nourish with healthy snacks, and experience a deeply relaxing sound bath. You will leave feeling rejuvenated and inspired. Come as you are – let go and be FREE!!
This is a global movement with events happening in cities all over the world, and the founders of Ecstatic Dance NY are helping us build the movement in NJ.
This is a substance-free event. People of all ages are welcome with an open heart, mind and spirit. The Space is a judgement-free zone for everyone to explore their creative spirit. Talking and conversation will be limited on the dance floor and reserved for designated areas.
Wear comfortable clothes that you can move it. You’ll be asked to remove your shoes, so you can dance barefoot or with socks.
Light fruit snacks, teas and juices will be available for hydration throughout the event.
Oracle card readings will be available by Jessica Diana.
Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 the week before.
Schedule:
3:30 – doors open
4:00 – Introductions and opening of the space with a cacao ceremony by Daniela Miranda.
4:20 – Somatic warmups led by Leen Abaza.
4:45 – DJ set and dance floor opens
6:00 – Grounding and relaxing sound bath begins led by Genevieve Deely.
7:00 – Closing of the space as a group.
Omar Aena is a world music DJ, conscious event producer, and cultural storyteller with roots in New York City and branches around the world. “My mission is to create spaces where people can connect with their deepest, truest selves and shine their light in service to collective liberation. Whether I’m facilitating intimate devotional gatherings in NYC, DJing an Ecstatic Dance, leading international pilgrimages to sacred lands, or producing films that illuminate spiritual music and dance traditions, each offering is an invitation to awaken to our true nature.”
