Flow into Form: Qi-gong and Expressive Art Experience
September 19, 1 – 3 pm, $40
Breathe. Move. Create.
In this two-hour workshop, you’ll move through repeating cycles of qi gong and intuitive art-making designed to calm your nervous system, soften tension in the body, and open your creative heart. Lead by Niraj Shah and Naz Botas, this event has become a community favorite. No art or qi gong experience is necessary.
Marking Movement: A Journey Through 5Rhythms and Intuitive Painting
October 25, 1 – 3:30 pm, $55
Marking Movement brings together two powerful languages of self-expression – 5Rhythms movement meditation and intuitive painting – into one continuous, embodied experience.
Created by Gabrielle Roth, 5Rhythms is a conscious dance practice rooted in the principle that when we put the psyche in motion, it can begin to heal itself. The five rhythms – Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness – each offer a different quality of movement and energy, helping us cultivate grounded bodies, clear minds, and inspired spirits.
Lead by Sayrah Garrison and Naz Botas.
Sunday Sessions
Long pose figure drawing and painting
September 27, 1 – 5 pm
$10 per hour, or $35 for the 4 hour session
Join us for a monthly Sunday figure session, where we get to draw and paint from life for an extended time. It is a single pose with a clothed model for a 4 hour session. You can come for an hour or two to practice your sketching, or stay for the entire afternoon to create a more detailed study. Priority spots will be given to full session ticket holders, so get your tickets in advance to secure a spot. There will also be plenty of room for drop-ins, and this is definitely open to all skill levels. Bring your materials of choice – drawing supplies or paints, its up to you. Come for the good music and the great people!

THE SPACE WE MADE
A celebration of You, We, and US!
Before The Space moves to its new home, we’re taking a look back and celebrating US! Everyone who has walked through the door over the last 3 years has helped make The Space what it is. You’ve lent your support, energy, and hearts to this cause. You came together to explore something new, shared your art and ideas, witnessed creativity in action, made space for one another, bonded with new friends, and all with laughter, love and authenticity. That was and always will be the invitation of The Space: to come share, explore and witness the creative spirit.
This last exhibit in this location takes a look back at all the shows, the people, and the nights that filled this room. The Space We Made is a photo exhibit of everyone and everything that’s happened here, and the opening reception is a PARTY!!

Wellmont Plaza here we come!
This beautiful Space we’ve been in for the last 3 years is transitioning to a new home. We are moving just one block away to the Wellmont Arts Plaza, right across from the Wellmont Theater, and we are super excited about it!
Its a brand new Space that is currently under construction, and we are aiming for a November opening. We’re in the current Space until October 31, so there may be a few weeks of down time depending on the construction progress, but it will be worth the wait. It will be a cozier place to explore your creativity, and we are building something special – an Art Cafe is coming (eek!!) – more on that in the coming weeks. Most importantly we will be on the ground floor with accessibility to all! There are still lots of events on the calendar until we leave here, including multiple celebrations, so get on the email list if you’re not already on it, and join us!

These weekly drawing sessions from a nude model offer a creative and dynamic environment for artists of all levels to explore the human form. Bring your own materials of choice, pick a spot and get into the flow of your own creativity. A different model is available every week, and easels, tables and chairs are provided as well as good music and vibes.

The Space is a forum for creative expansion and expression. We are an art gallery that holds art classes, open mic nights, artist talks, exhibit openings, healing circles, live music events, meditation and wellness events, and jewelry markets. The Space is located on the second floor of a historic building, accessible via a flight of stairs. Unfortunately, there is no elevator access at this time. This means we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs or guests with significant mobility challenges. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
