Hey writers, poets, and storytellers! Come share your art with us at The Space for Words Open Mic Night. Whether you’re a seasoned author or just getting started, this is your chance to share your work in front of a supportive and inspiring audience.
Bring your poetry, short stories, or excerpts from your latest work — the stage is yours! The Space is a safe place to try out new material, read old favorites, experiment with a different genre, and even to sing a song if inspiration strikes you. Each performer will have a few minutes to showcase their writing, followed by an opportunity to connect with fellow creatives.
Come for the words, stay for the community. The Space for Words has grown into an amazing community of writers supporting one another. This event is open to all levels and all genres, so whether you write fiction, non-fiction, memoir, or poetry, we want to hear from you. It’s all about celebrating the power of storytelling in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. All of our open mic nights are always inclusive.
Anyone who puts their name in the bucket upon entry gets a shot at the mic. You may be limited to about 10 minutes, depending on how many people sign up. Audience members are, as always, a welcome and vital part of the performances.
If you have published books that you would like to sell, bring some copies and be prepared to accept payment.
