The Art of Ruth Bauer Neustadter:  Roots of Humanity

Opening reception Friday September 12, from 4 – 7 pm, free and open to the public.

The Space Gallery is proud to host a solo exhibit for Ruth Bauer Neustadter entitled Roots of Humanity. 

Her career spans decades of creative innovation and cultural leadership. Her paintings have been exhibited in solo, and group shows across the United States and internationally. Beyond her studio practice, she has profoundly shaped the cultural landscape of New Jersey: Notably, she founded the Hackensack Art Gallery at the Hackensack Performing Arts Center (HACPAC), which will be renamed the Ruth Bauer Neustadter Art Gallery in recognition of her founding and creation in January 2026.

Join us for these additional events during the exhibition run:

Found Object Assemblage Workshop, Sunday October 19, 12 – 2pm – Ruth is a master of assemblage.  In this workshop you will have the chance to create your own with her guidance, and participants are encouraged to bring their own found objects.  Canvas and paint are provided.  The cost of the workshop is $80. Artist Talk, Sunday October 19, 2:30 – 3:30 pm  – Following the workshop we will open up a dialogue with Ruth.  She will take us through the inspiration and ideas behind her work and share insights into her process.
