This is a sacred circle where folks who exist outside the binary are free to show up as themselves. It is an invitation to explore gender identity, speak truth, and share authentic self.
Organized by Maya and Kelly, this group intends to build a supportive, uplifting community and to create room for reflection, growth, and a deeper understanding of self for transgender and gender non-conforming individuals.
This group will foster the exploration of one’s self and the sharing of that self with others on a similar personal journey.

Group Organizers:
Maya Niemsyk (she/they) is a trans woman and current intern at The Space, who has assisted in smaller online transgender and gender non-conforming community spaces for the past 5 years. Having questioned her gender since the age of 4 and started socially/medically transitioning at 21, she has been, and still is, on her own personal journey. During this time she has had a wide array of experiences related to gender exploration and advocacy. She hopes that this support group will not only allow others to embrace their truth and authentic selves, but also foster a strong sense of community. Additionally, she hopes this group will help others feel more connected to and proud of their identity.
Kelly Richards (she/her/hers) is a cisgender woman and Clinical Psychologist, who has been working with transgender and gender non-conforming individuals from her psychology practice in Syracuse, NY, for approximately 15 years. It has been an incredible honor and beautiful privilege for her to hold space for folks, who are highly deserving and in need of it, especially at a time when their voices and identities are actively being shut down and dismissed. She holds great respect for the power of community and coming together to share space as a collective.
