Sometimes we just need a relaxing evening of chill vibes, creative art making and community. Twice a month the Space takes an evening shift and stays open until 10 pm. Its a social art making evening, with a lounge vibe and good music. Bring a group of friends and byob and its a great night out!
There will be a guided art project that starts at 7 pm that you can participate in. Or you can drop in with your own work and materials and get situated to do your own thing. Either way its a space to get your creative juices flowing.
The cost is $10 from 7 – 8:30 pm, and includes basic art supplies, tea and coffee.
You will have your choice:
- You can join the guided art project. We will gather at the big table and work on a fun project that is designed to get you using your hands, working with materials and making things. The session will be guided, but kept loose enough to allow for self- exploration of your work. The goal is to leave with your own original creation. This is not a paint and sip approach, where you copy a given image. This offers you a starting point and materials to take off onto your own journey. The projects are anything from collage and assemblage, post card making, drawing birds, making mobiles, painting flowers, just to name a few.
- Or, you can bring your own creative project to work on. Pick a spot in the room and get to work. Maybe you have a book you’ve been trying to write, a storyboard you need to present, a painting you want to progress with, or just want to doodle – the Space is yours. You can mingle with the crowd or stay focused on your own, its totally up to you.
Who is this for:
- Everyone! The lounge is here to provide space to be creative. Its also a chance to socialize with other creatives, talk about ideas and inspire one another.
- Kids above 12 are welcome to participate in the art project with parental / guardian supervision.
General rules:
- Be mindful of cleaning up your mess. There is a bathroom down the hall if you need water for your work.
- Art materials are provided for the group projects, but you should bring your own materials if you’re working on your own project.
- Easels, tables and chairs are provided but you should bring all other materials you think you might need.
- BYOB and food are welcome.
